01 / 05 — What everything sits on
Engineering
The quiet infrastructure and the loud ideas — same team.
Multi-year platform work sits at one end of the shelf. An interactive documentary about a harbour sits at the other. In between: mobile apps in both app stores, e-commerce, CMS builds, and the performance work nobody notices until it's missing.
The range is deliberate. The platform work keeps us disciplined about reliability and maintenance; the creative work keeps us fluent in what the web can actually do. Each makes the other better.
Good AI work starts before any code — working out where it genuinely fits, what's safe to put live, and what to leave alone. We do that discovery for regulated, high-stakes environments too, where the compliance question comes before the clever demo.
Then we build for production: grounded assistants that cite their sources, agents that carry real work, and the governance around them. We'll also tell you when AI isn't the answer.

Two ways in
Directly with clients — and embedded inside other agencies and dev teams as their engineering and AI partner.
A lot of our work is invisible on purpose. We sit inside partner agencies and in-house teams on long-running engagements — like the multi-phase platform work we deliver for Flicks — as the senior capability they don’t have to hire. Nobody sees it, no one writes case studies about it. We like it that way.
The rest is the work we chase — creative technology, art projects, interactive experiences; the stuff this website is made of. We’ve delivered it alongside Tangerine Design, GCD, and Woven Studio. If your team needs a capability it doesn’t have, that’s us.

Our site launched as an interactive experience about Aotearoa's endangered species — it stayed up for over a year and people kept talking about it. Every animal here is real and at risk: the tuatara, takahē, pekapeka, katipō, Māui dolphin and the great white shark. It's also our proof of what we mean by immersive web — WebGL, shaders and real-time interaction, not a case study paragraph.
